It depends on what your intentions are for starting the process of juicing. Are you doing it for weight loss, for improving your skin or are you doing it to help you detoxify your body or you just want to get more vitamins and nutrients in your body instead of consuming pounds of fruits and vegetables every day. Actually, if you stop and think about it, it would be great for any of those reasons, you just have to be smart about it. Some people go into a new regimen with the mentality "I need this", while others go into with the mentality "This is good for me", while others think "This is the right thing to do, I need to get healthy".

This is 2025, wow hard to believe right that somehow, we managed to get here, yet one thing that should be certain is your health. If you are constantly living in fear of obstacles (like catching Covid or flu) or if you are on the other side of it and you have gotten Covid and have lingering side effects. Don't panic. You can take control of your health. After all your health is not something that can be bought. Stop thinking that being healthy, or eating healthy will put a hole in your pocket. That hole probably does not compare or come close to what you pay for medication, junk food, and things that you probably don't need.
Someone constantly says that they can't buy and eat all organic, who said you have to?! Did you know that organic food is still exposed to undeniable amount of toxins, you get a little less exposure but it's not 100% proof. But in all reality, you most likely are getting more exposure to environmental toxins inside and outside your home on regular basis. Forget what you've heard or think you've heard about organic food, it gets bad reputation because it sometimes cost more but depends on where you go plus if finances are an issue, don't stress over it.
Purchase what you can even if it is not organic and start experimenting with different juices. You also don't need to spend a fortune on a juicer when you are starting out, a perfectly acceptable option would be to invest in one that is $50 not $350.
There are pros and cons of cold press juicer. Pros of slow and cold press juicer is that you get higher volume of nutrients. Slow pressing helps to retain more vitamins, minerals and enzymes in the juice, providing a more nutrient packed drink which is simpler for digestion and absorption. The taste and flavor are also more profound--slow pressing provides more flavorful juice because all the ingredients mix synergistically and create more favorable taste. It also provides low oxidation - which means it helps to keep the juice fresh for a longer time typically a couple of days where the regular juicer would mean you need to drink it right after you've prepared it to get any nutritional value. Cold press is easier for juicing leafy greens, which are difficult to juice with high-speed juicers.
The two biggest cons are that: slow press juicers are generally a bit more expensive than high-speed juicers and cleaning due to a couple extra parts but can be a great investment in health for the entire family.
If this is something you are interested in exploring, keep a couple things in mind. Instead of worrying about getting your entire family on board, kids and spouses can be quite picky and that's ok, sometimes changes take time. And please don't let your friends tell you otherwise, they are not accountable for your health nor you, you are. There is no harm in trying something new that can potentially have significant health benefits. for you and your loved ones. Would you give up coffee cold turkey if you knew it was bad for you and switch to drinking tea and/or juices, could you make that shift in one day? Most likely not and again, that's ok.
Start slow, start with introducing juicing just for yourself and don't get too crazy with trying to add too many different ingredients all at once. Just because the line of colorful fruits and vegetables that you prepared to juice all at once looks great on your kitchen countertop, start with just one or two and let your taste buds talk to you. Try a shot glass of fresh apple juice or orange before you put anything else in your mouth first thing in the morning, see how your taste buds will start to dance. It's quite amazing how good an apple or orange taste especially on a cloudy or cold day. Fruit is always best in the morning, it's full of fiber and vitamins including digestive enzymes and provide you with that morning pick me up.
So let me ask you this. Of course, it's easier to just pop a handful of vitamins and supplements or a handful of medication into our mouth and wash it down with a cup of coffee because it's quick, easy and convenient but at what long term cost? Is it worth it? If you can make a small change in our daily routine, what if instead of daily juicing which can be intimidating and time consuming--but instead you tried it on a weekend by yourself. Your husband and kids might get curious and want to try it as well, don't push it, let it happen naturally. We all have to start somewhere, start small and slow.
Lead by example. You can't force people to change because you want them to, but if you try, you might start something that will help you and your family to have gradual surprising health impact. Don't be afraid of natural sugar, obviously if you are a diabetic, it does not mean you can't juice, it just means you have to be cautious about it and limit the amount until your body begins to heal, but what you are putting in your body the rest of the day is also important. So what are you waiting for? We've lived in fear for so long, it's time to start experiencing the small things, like a small shot of heaven, I mean juice. Ask and share your recipe ideas. Happy Juicing.
